Mr. Joven is Of Counsel with the Firm, concentrating on business law and litigation. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Mr. Joven graduated from Wabash College in 1989, and from the Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington in 1992. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, the United States District Courts for Northern and Southern Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
On March 7, 2006, Mr. Joven was sworn in as Judge of the Marion County Small Claims Court, Lawrence Township Division. He serves the Court on a part-time basis while
maintaining his practice with the Firm. From 2003 through 2005, Mr. Joven served as the Indiana Securities Commissioner under Secretary of State Todd Rokita. Prior to that, as a Deputy Attorney General for Attorney General Steve Carter, Mr. Joven was the coordinating attorney on the team that defended challenges to the Indiana Telephone Privacy Act - the law that created Indiana's "Do Not Call" list. He also worked in the administration of former Indianapolis Mayor Steve Goldsmith, heading an initiative to find ways to re-use environmentally contaminated real estate. Mr. Joven was a Judicial Law Clerk for Justice Roger O. DeBruler of the Indiana Supreme Court.
Mr. Joven was the 2006 winner of the Indy's Best & Brightest Award in the Government Division. As a youth, Judge Joven earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was awarded the Walter J. Schuchmann Scout Leadership Award by the Veterans Day Council of Indianapolis. Mr. Joven is a member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, sits on the Board of Directors of Scecina Memorial High School, is the Chairman of the Indiana Jump$tart Coalition, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Indiana Council for Economic Education.
